Baroni Tests Positive...Twice

According to the California State Athletic Commission, Phil Baroni tested positive for the anabolic steroids Boldenone Metabolite and Stanozolol Metabolite after his June 22 Strikeforce/EliteXC middleweight championship fight against Frank Shamrock.

The CSAC has fined Baroni $2,500 and suspended him for 365 days. Naturally, Pavia and Baroni are planning an appeal. What a joke.

Ken Pavia, Baroni's manager, told MMAWeekly: "While we respect the process and intent of the tests, we are disappointed with the results as they are completely unexpected. Phil did not knowingly ingest these drugs, which we are told are veterinary in nature."
Veterinary?!?!
