Jara Replaces Weatherspoon for 7/27 EliteXC Card

Sam Caplan of FiveOuncesofPain.com is reporting that an injury to King of the Cage welterweight champ Aaron Wetherspoon has forced him out of tomorrow night's title unification bout with Gladiator Challenge champ Jeremiah Metcalf.

Filling in for Weatherspoon will be Gladiator Challenge middleweight Jaime Jara (pictured), who is riding a 9-fight win streak that dates back to 2004. Jara andMetcalf will meet at the catch weight of 175 lbs.

Jarra carries a 15-4 overall record and has held Gladiator Challenge middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight championship titles throughout his MMA career. According to Jara's web site, he is scheduled to fight on the Gladiator Challenge August 4 card, as well.

Tomorrow night's EliteXC card will kick off the new ShoXC EliteXC Challenger Series and will air on Showtime at 9 PM ET. After that, the show will air on Saturday nights. I'm going to check it out for sure.
